Katherine founded Head and Heart Counselling in 2005

Katherine is a psychotherapist, clinical supervisor and couples therapist with more than 20 years of experience. Using depth psychology and transpersonal psychology and drawing influence from wisdom traditions from across the world, Katherine integrates a long history of meditation practice with scientific reason and clinical experience. In addition to couples therapy, individual depth process and somatic work, Katherine also offers groups for deep processing and integration for substantial change. Focusing on the wisdom of the body and the touchstones of authenticity and vulnerability, Katherine invites people to know themselves more deeply by taking the risks of relating fully, and living an abundant life.

Head and Heart Counselling has been a labour of love since the early 2000’s when counselling was still stigmatized, insurance companies did not cover counselling and private practice clinicians had to learn to deliver immediate, powerful help to their clients in order to stay relevant. Times have changed significantly and with the current openness to healing, growth and self knowledge and the abundance of knowledge and training available online, Head and Heart Counselling has expanded as a way to help bring counselling of the highest standards to the public.

Katherine continues to put her clients at the center of her work, honouring each person’s uniqueness, way of life and personal values while helping guide them toward fulfillment, peace of mind, and satisfying relationships with others.

At Head and Heart we welcome all forms of love and people from all walks of life.

There are rare and radical teachers in the tantric, and non-dual wisdom traditions who give us invaluable insight on how to create deep changes in ourselves and our lives. They have roots in lineages going back to some of the most recognized Indian sages in history such as Nisargadatta Maharaja, Ramana Maharshi and Sri Atmananda Krishna Menon, as well as American esoteric philosopher Franklin Merrell-Wolff.

At Head and Heart Counselling, we are grateful for the guidance and examples these teachers have given us.

Head and Heart Counselling is informed by the work of Ken Wilber, Carl Jung, and teachers like Richard Moss, Francis Lucille, Lisa Cairns and Nicolas Gonzalez
